Nursing Home Medicaid Eligibility

Qualification limits for the Medicaid program vary depending on the type of Medicaid received. If a person already has Medicaid, please note that it may not pay for nursing facility services. If you do not already have Nursing Home Medicaid a full Medicaid application must be completed once admitted into the nursing home. These forms can be located through the nursing home Admissions Coordinator or the local DFCS office.

When applying for Medicaid the following eligibility requirements must be met:

Income Limits are based on GROSS income. Please note that amount received from Social Security, Pension, VA or other retirement benefits may have deductions withheld. Information of gross benefit is normally distributed annually from the source. Some State and Federal benefits are verified semi-annually. Resources include but are not limited to Banking accounts (checking , savings, CD's, money market, etc), stocks, rental property, life insurance ($10, 000.00+), property, homeplace, etc. Please note that these are just examples of the types of items that must be provided if Medicaid in the nursing home is requested.
