Facility
Gilmer Nursing Home is considered one of the highest rated nursing home
in the State. The "edenizing" model has been implemented. Residents
enjoy a home-like atmosphere with freedom to decorate their rooms to suit
their individual taste. Halls and public areas are filled with live plants.
There are three different bird aviaries, a goldfish pond, and a resident
cat named ?Bo jangles?. Other animals come for visits on a regular basis.
Residents are able to tend their individual vegetable garden or flower
garden.
Meal time is a great time for socializing. The dinning room has been redecorated
to reflect the name – "Southern Charm Café", complete
with tables set for four using table cloths and flowers. Residents are
served restaurant style, which has proved to increase appetites as well
as socialization during meals.
